Residence La Val | 2018

The green building project of a new residential building, is realized on the request of the company CF Costruzioni, and is located in a district of a typical village of
the Pianura Padana.
Architectural research has led to the experimentation of a simple and at the same time innovative language, where volumes refer to tradition
while a partially transparent metallic skin
, detached from the building, designs a new enclosure that filters light and avoids overheating of the walls.
The 7 apartments are all equipped with large terraces, designed as an extension of the living spaces. Great attention was paid to the choice of materials,
which are the most natural possible:
no coat, only clay and air as insulation reaching a transmittance of 0, 18 W / mqk for the perimeter walls (45.5 cm thick);
wood floors exposed, free of treatments / paints.

The great innovation perpetuated with this project is the plant engineering. The entire complex has been designed
to be in symbiosis with the environment, in fact there is no connection to the GAS network.
The main energy source will be the electricity obtained from the photovoltaic system equipped with patented accumulation batteries: not 7 photovoltaic plants,
but a single centralized one that supplies energy to the entire building according to the management logic of Easytech Srl.

A real integrated project that wants to launch a challenge: a sustainable building, ready to be placed in a real smart grid.

The existing building will be demolished and rebuilt for the new needs of the family which is to create an apartment on each floor. As “head” of the houses curtain, the new volume will have a compact character which contrast from the houses by side dealing with some elements. The red brick, the windows regularity, the eaves and the porch are the signs of simplicity and of the rural place. The terraces aver the porch disappear behind a perforated screen, keeping the regular rhythm of the holes. The building is designed with the technology of the wooden Xlam and a systems which break down the construction price.

The project, already under construction, consists of a duplex house with two floors. The volume outlined in is pretty simple characterized by full and empty which are highlighted by a very subtle contrast between light colors. Great attention was given to solar orientation linked with the study of the interior spaces, terraces and all the shelters shading. Interior disposition bring out a substantial division between service areas (kitchen, bathroom and closet) and living area that looks out to the large garden. It’s provided covered car parking on the ground floor to contain costs.

Waterfront Complex / Moscow | 2014

The project, on the banks of the Volga River about 200 miles from Moscow, involves the study of three units, one of which has already been partially realized. The challenge was to combine the Swiss chalet style requested by the customer, the vernacular style of the place, in a contemporary approach. The use of wood beams, interpenetrating roofs, stones and large windows are the main elements of the project. All the structures are designed with x-lam technology. The main house performs the function of a luxury private accommodation. A new glass volume stands between traditional pitched with a modern approach, allowing to enjoy the surrounding nature. The SPA is the wellness center connected to the main house resuming formal features and materials. The panoramic tower is the symbolic/totemic element characterizing the entire area. It is a building about 25 meters high, built using logs from existing blockhouse. At the top there is a room totally glazed and partly screen with wooden slats, used as a lookout and relax area.

Lift up the house | 2013

Lift up the house is a project with an ecological approach. From the use of X-lam technology and the study of the genius loci, was born a compact volume, which seems resting on the existing one. The external cladding panels, made with a natural experimental material, are used to resume the chromatic contrasts context and also to define the details of the windows frames. The interiors are simple and basic but in continuous dialogue with the outside, through colors, lights and framing of the landscape. The heating system, powered by renewable energy sources and the use of natural materials such as clay, guarantee an high comfort and limit consumption of about 70%.

It’s not easy to combine privacy and innovation in a curtain home in the middle of the urban context. Several design features have been developed to give more privacy in the interior and exterior spaces of the house. The ground floor had been transformed in a free space left for the passage. Arriving in the service areas you discover the main courtyard which is extended in two different heights, as well as the two houses. A game of vertical strips of wood has the dual function of shielding the main facades from the southwest summer sunlight and protect the privacy of the residences.

What is the identity of a place? What defines in spatial terms the identity of a landscape and the human settlement in the landscape? What are the typological and morphological features that persist and those that vary? Where and what are the continuity of the signs, shapes and morphologies, syntaxes, structures and materials? These questions represent some of the roots that have informed and guided the project. Looking to the request of a reabilitation of an old court house, the new project seeks to evoke the history and tradition through shapes and materials. So the propose consist in a simple volume that remind the effect of full and empty spaces typical of the old houses with barn. Two massive walls protect the enclosure, shielded by blinds in wood and iron in the transparent parts. A vertical cut that cross all the floors create a constant dialogue between the spaces and a well of natural light; on the ground floor the interior spaces are mixed with the external creating hybrid situations such as  an indoor garden and an outdoor seating area. Villa KB in Valpolicella | 2009

The special design of Villa KB interior (and exterior spaces) was born from the uniqueness of the local Valpolicella and the taste of the Russian customers. The wide collection of traditional paintings has been placed on the walls and in the niches specially designed in the large rooms, which open the view on the beautiful surrounding landscape. A complex interplay of lights embedded in the ceiling makes the space modular and at the same time very spectacular: the light becomes a design element in a continuous interweaving of lines and bright colored walls. From the living branches off a “sculpture” of vertical profiles in wrought iron which connects the three floors of the house and becomes the railing for the staircase. The research of quality materials and the accuracy in details make the bathrooms become little jewelry where the mosaics walls seem embroidered with natural elements. Prun stone, bas-reliefs in marble, wood and local green make up the external spaces and draw architectural geometries and furnishings.

The villa is organized in a lot that opens from the urban center to the countryside. The volume is compact on the street frontage, but will fall apart losing more and more material as it’s reaching out to the countryside.
